Viettel ranked 30th in profit among global telecom companies

Viettel ranked 80th in revenue, 30th in profit among global telecom companies when its revenue reached USD 5.6 billion and profit nearly reached USD 1 billion in 2011. Its revenue growth is 28% although Vietnam and global economies face many difficulties during 2011.
Viettel gained the highest profit in ICT industry, ranking second in nearly 500,000 businesses currently operating in Vietnam. Productivity per worker in Viettel is more than USD 220,000 / person / year. Performance indicators such as ROE, ROA are much higher than peers.
Vietnam has been following strategy to focus on growth over the last 10 years. In the domestic market, Viettel has developed additional 8 million new mobile subscribers in 2011, highest in seven operators, offering many new products and services to serve the unique needs of each set of customers, as package for fishermen SEA +, 3G unlimited package MiMax.
Viettel’s revenue from foreign markets in 2011 reached nearly USD 500 million. After nearly three years of operation, the mobile communication networks in Laos and Cambodia have become the largest networks in terms of marketshare, customers and network coverage. After-tax profit of nearly USD 70 million, increased by 8 times higher than in 2010. Viettel currently has operations in five countries: Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Mozambique and Peru with a total population of 86 million people, equivalent to the population of Vietnam.
